Hovhannes Ghazaryan

Hovhannes is an advisor within the Foreign Relations Department of the Administration of the President of Armenia.

The main functions of the Department are to: prepare foreign policy documents; collect, process, analyse and submit to the President information on socio-economic, political and legislative developments in foreign and partner countries; monitor and coordinate the activities of the executive branch in the area of foreign policy; and to provide guidance on the fulfilment of Armenia´s commitments within international organizations.

The department prepares recommendations for the President and the Head of the Administration on how to increase the efficiency of those activities. It closely interacts with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide updates to the President on issues concerning Armenia´s foreign policy, foreign affairs and its international standing.

Hovhannes´s responsibilities as an adviser include: to prepare and coordinate the drafting of foreign policy data on relations between Armenia and its partners and international organizations; deal with issues related to the Armenian Diaspora; ensure that materials necessary for the meetings with foreign officials and foreign visits of the President are duly prepared by the relevant Government ministries and bodies, process those materials and provide additional recommendations; liaise with the respective officials of the Armenian executive branch to ensure that the arrangements and agreements made as a result of the President´s meetings and visits as well as commitments undertaken by Armenia within international organizations are implemented; provide professional support to collect, process, analyze and submit to the President information on socio-economic, political and legislative developments in foreign and partner countries.
