Zamira is the Regional Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Coordinator of INGO Saferworld in Osh, Kyrgyzstan. She works in peacebuilding and conflict prevention programmes in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. She has an MA in Politics and Security in Central Asia from the OSCE Academy in Bishkek. Previously Zamira has worked in international organisations as well as state institutions in peacebuilding and conflict prevention. She specialises in building trust between local authorities and local communities, preventing gender-based violence and inter-ethnic tensions, we well as youth empowerment.
Zamira’s action plan is to develop an innovative and comprehensive approach to empowering marginalised young people in Kyrgyzstan to ensure they make a positive contribution to their communities rather than risk getting involved in violence. She wants to contribute to the development of a cross-sectoral policy and practice in youth inclusion.
