Nazira is Youth Program Coordinator for the UNDP Democratic Governance Program, Bishkek.
The United Nations Development Programme launched its activities in the Kyrgyz Republic in 1993. Its mission is to help accelerate the achievement of the national Millennium Development Goals through capacity building and policy advice in poverty reduction, good governance, environmental sustainability, regional cooperation, gender equality, and conflict prevention and recovery.
At the time of the 2009 Fellowship Programme, Nazira was the Osh Office Representative of the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia (EFCA) network. EFCA manages a broad portfolio of programs, developing local organisations via technical assistance and grants. The Eurasia Foundation and EFCA have invested more than $40 million in Central Asia to support local initiatives in community development, private enterprise, education and public administration.
Nazira initiated the EFCA program ‘Conflict Resolution in Batken Oblast’. The project aims to increase the potential of local NGOs and authorities and to encourage community leaders in Batken to design and implement conflict management initiatives.
