Alexandru Pelivan

Alexandru works for the Moldova Local Government Support Project (LGSP) as Municipal Coordinator.  The USAID Local Government Support is a four-year, USAID-funded activity to assist local governments to design and implement policies and procedures that contribute to good governance, develop local capacity to meet decentralized authorities and responsibilities for services in a transparent manner, and provide basic services that spur the growth of local economies and make services more cost effective and efficient. The objectives of the project are: Improve municipal service delivery, including planning, service management and service quality and quantity; Increase revenues available to local governments and improvements in financial management practices;  Municipal Energy Efficiency.

Alexandru has previously worked as Project Manager for the UNDP “Building Institutional Capacity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration”;  Project Manager for the UNDP “Support to Central Public Administration Reform Project”; Program Specialist for the USAID Local Government Reform Project and as Project Assistant for the Institute for Public Policy. He holds a Master Degree in Public Administration. At the time of the 2003 Fellowship he was Senior Specialist in Public Administration for Chisinau County Council.
