Andrei Iovu

Andrei is a consultant for the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities and researcher at the Institute for Public Policy in the Republic of Moldova. Andrei works closely with government institutions, civil society and international organizations on the integration of Moldovan society, notably by developing and implementing the Strategy for Consolidation of Inter-ethnic Relations in the Republic of Moldova for the years 2017-2020. Andrei holds a Master degree from the University College of London, School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES) and currently pursues a doctoral degree in Constitutional Law at the Moldova State University.

His action plan aims to increase the participation of national minorities in public life, including the introduction of participatory mechanisms to better engage under-represented groups. This goes beyond the short-term management of internal tensions and conflict; this more inclusive approach will enhance and strengthen the nation’s long-term cohesion and identity.
