In August 2010, Liliana was appointed as Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the Hellenic Republic. She is based in Athens.
At the time of the 2010 Fellowship Programme, Liliana was Head of Section for regional cooperation in the wider Black Sea area within the Regional Cooperation Directorate of the European Integration Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (Republic of Moldova). For more than ten years, the Republic of Moldova has actively participated in regional cooperation processes in the Central, South Eastern Europe (SEE) and Black Sea area (BSa). The Regional Cooperation Directorate is responsible for providing the necessary conditions for Moldova’s active involvement in these processes, with the aim of improving Moldova’s social and economic development and thus leading towards European integration.
In this context, during 2008-2009, the Republic of Moldova took the Presidency of several regional initiatives including: South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP); Central European Initiative (CEI); Multinational Advisory Group of the Centre for Security Cooperation (MAG RACVIAC); South East European Health Network (SEEHN), and the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA).
In her capacity as a member of the National Secretariat responsible for the successful implementation of these initiatives, the focus of Liliana’s work over the last three years has been on the Moldovan Chairmanships. This includes the organisation of numerous regional high level meetings, summits and conferences.
