Maxim Belov

Maxim is a Deputy of the Murmansk Regional Parliament and Chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy, Energy and Housing and Communal Affairs. He is also a Member of the Chamber of Young Legislators under the Federation Council of Russia.

He has a background in Arctic logistics, corporate tourism and event management and, before he held elected office, his career path took him from labourer to manager of several successful start-ups.

His action plan focuses on innovative urban planning – how cities and towns look and the creation and improvement of public spaces. He would like to understand the British experience and best practice of solving the problem of outflow of populations from small towns to cities and the role that innovative urban planning plays in strategies to prevent it.
