Sergey Makov

Sergey is based in the UK working for Jacobs Engineering UK ltd. as a Transport Planner. His main responsibility is to develop transport models for the South East of the UK. He is working on a number of projects in Kent which aim to reduce congestion, improve accessibility and road safety, and promote the use of public transport.

In 2007 Sergey studied Road Management and Public Policy (MSc) at the University of Birmingham as a Chevening Scholar. Prior to coming to the UK, Sergey worked for the Nizhny Novgorod Department of Transport as a Senior Expert. He was responsible for the implementation of the Regional Road Safety Programme, the development of the public transport service delivery standards, and coordination of the road network operation in the region.

At the time of the 2005 JS Fellowship he was a Leading Specialist for the Front Office for Roads and Transport (FORT) in Nizhny Novgorod – a state enterprise responsible for the construction, maintenance and safety of roads and overall transport policy in the region.
