“Working with JSMT Fellow Haval Roof, Dadyar will work to implement the ten year plan to achieve the establishment of a sustainable rule of law framework in the Kurdish region of Iraq.” Brian Brivati, Academic Programme Director
Dadyar Sulaiman is a judge in the Erbil Investigation Court and in Kurdistan’s Judicial Council, where he is also the official Speaker. His responsibilities include briefing the media about relevant developments within the court and managing legal relations for citizens living outside of Iraq, which involves sending court notifications and decisions via embassies and consulates in Baghdad. Dadyar also has a PhD in Law and has taught law in various universities and other institutions around Erbil.
His action plan is to establish a Judicial Appointment Commission as an independent body to select judges for specialised and sensitive cases.
