Dr Vida Hamd is a Research Officer and Foreign Policy and Natural Resources Coordinator at the UNDP where she works in the office for Dialogue, Civil Peace and Constitutional Strengthening. Vida provides research and facilitation support to various national dialogue processes on constitutional reforms as well as on issues dealing with conflict over maritime boundaries and natural resources. She is also a part time Lecturer at the Lebanese American University where she teaches an introduction to Human Rights course. Previously, Vida has worked at the UNHCR as a Protection Assistant and later as a Senior Regional Resettlement Assistant. She has a PhD in International Law from the Beirut Arab University.
Vida’s Action Plan aims to strengthen the rule of law in Lebanon from three angles: generating public support for constitutional reforms; conducting an independent judicial review to ensure proper application of the law; and providing technical assistance to parliamentary bodies on the protection of human rights.
